A warm welcome to Shropshire and Around.

Welcome to Shropshire Tours where we offer private, individually planned, tours to couples and groups, in a luxurious car or modern coach, or on foot.

Gatehouse at Stokesay Castle.

The Dingle in Shrewsbury’s Quarry.

Come to Shropshire and enjoy its many wonderful attractions. From Scenic beauty, Historic buildings (and ruins!), museums, manicured Gardens, living Victoriana,  to aircraft and steam trains. There are two World Heritage sites (Ironbridge Gorge and Vale of Clwyd) within 35 minutes drive of Shrewsbury.

It is also known for it’s great variety of ‘one-off’ shops – far away from the hustle and bustle of cities. It makes a truly memorable place to take U.K. holiday vacations.

To get close to our wonderful Countryside, we also can provide walking tours mainly set in the South Shropshire Hills Area of Natural Beauty.

Enjoy the space! Out of 90 counties in England, Shropshire is the 6th least populated, which helps explain the relaxing feel.

Pitchford Hall

The Ironbridge

It has a truly remarkable variety of places to visit, or just view, ranging from the first iron bridge in the World, the original ancestor of all skyscrapers, to a Cold War headquarters, to an area with the greatest number of the known geological ages. It has a wealth of timber-framed houses, including the first ‘Black & White’ house, many of which are in the six main market towns, all set in quiet, attractive countryside.

The Welsh border has spectacular countryside interspersed with fascinating towns and thriving villages. The Celtic traditions are all around with the magnificent Castles, Churches and Cathedrals. ‘Float in the sky’ on Thomas’ Telford’s magnificent Pontcysyllte aqueduct.

Our Walking tours are mainly centred  in Shropshire Hills Area of Natural Beauty.

All these are within comfortable range and we ‘mix & match’ to produce your ideal tour.

Shropshire is an ideal base for tours which require overnight stops. These, such as North Wales Mountains, Coast & Castles, require one night stays and the Scottish Highlands, York, &  the Peak District between 4 and 7 night stays. These are only examples of past tours, if you want anywhere else such as the Cotswolds, Yorkshire and Hadrian’s Wall, or Dorset & Cornwall, please just contact us using the contact form.

Martin & Andy were very helpful & accommodating in planning a full day tour to the places my sister and I wanted to see, Ironbridge, Bridgenorth and Blist’s Hill, including lunch at a lovely pub, seeing the remains of the Roman city of Wroxeter on the return journey and even an impromptu drive through the grounds of Attingham Hall as rain was forecast for our planned trip the following day.
It would’ve been impossible to see so much in one day on public transport.
Andy was a safe & attentive driver, Martin a very informative and interesting guide and they were both good company.
A custom-made tour may seem a bit expensive but when you consider all the expenses, fuel, insurance, the services of a guide and chauffeur, a comfortable vehicle to and from the hotel, it was well worth the mone… Read more
